About Us

Proposal

The proposal was weeks earlier than it was supposed to be. Catherine just couldn't wait any longer. Many ideas were thought of and finally one seemed to work. The couple had their first "real" date in Phelps, NY by a waterfall and a park with a creek. Througout the first year of their relationatip Emily bought Catherine different flowers and roses. Catherine saved the roses and dried them out to hold on to. Catherine decided she wanted to propose to Emily at the place of their first real date and wanted to include those rose petals. They watched "How It's Made" a lot and saw an episode with viewers from the 80's/90's that you could click through and see a 3-D picture. Catherine collected pictures of the roses Emily had given her, the final picture ending with the rose petals to spell out "Will you marry me?". She had them put on her own personal 3-D viewer for Emily. They had their anniversary date by the creek with wine and gifts - finally Emily looked through the viewer. At the last picture she dropped the viewer with a shocked look on her face. She then pulled the ring out of the gift bag with the same look on her face. Catherine proposed and they both cried and cried and then laughed and smiled. And just like that, they were engaged.

About Us

Our Story

It all started with a wink and a message on Match.com. Two people who were miles apart had a chance encounter at love. After texting and then talking for a few days, Emily asked Catherine out far drinks at a local bar and they met up in Syracuse a few night later. Both were hesitant about meeting as this had gone wrong for both of them many times before. Little did they know that this night would be different. What started out as just a couple drinks and pool turned into hours of talking and not being able to take their eyes off one another. It couldn't have gone better.

The actual first date would take place a few days later in a spot that Catherine had planned out in Phelps, NY. Catherine had planned a picnic at a park by a beautiful creek. She brought salads, desserts, wine and flowers as well as a hand made gift for Emily. Emily was blown away. Gradually they got to know each other and before you know it they were living together. Who would have thought that a year later they would be back at the same spot with Catherine proposing to Emily?

Today they live together in Newark, NY with their blended family of pets. Three dogs, two cats and a parakeet. On weekends they enjoy taking day trips to various location, checking out farmers markets in neighboring areas or trying out different places to eat. The weekdays are typical weekdays consisting of work, time with the animals and each other...including wedding planning and pizza.
